Charleston Loophole remains open 6 years after Emanuel AME shooting | WCIV
The Charleston Loophole is considered a gap in federal law that allows gun sales to move forward without a completed background check.
That loophole was exploited by Emanuel AME gunman Dylann Roof when he was allowed to purchase the gun he used in the 2015 massacre despite a prior felony.
Six years after Roof's notorious hate crime, federal and state efforts to close the loophole have gone nowhere. WCIV's Anne Emerson has more in this video.
