241002 The New Testament Introduction Part 1
Pastor Scott Craig starts the New Testament series with an overview of the Gospel Era. WE cannot understand the New Testament without having a grasp of the Old Testament. A critical concept to grasp is that the Old and New Testaments are ONE book. It IS Jewish, which is to say it is the continuing story of the Jewish people INCLUDING Jesus.
The geography of the New Testament is the same as that of the Old. Some places, however, were renamed. Alexander The Great was the reigning monarch of the time and the Greek/Roman (Hellenism) influence is pervasive throughout the then-known world.
Each of the four Gospels reveals different ways to perceive Jesus:
Matthew shows the Kingly side
Mark shows the Servant's side
Luke shows the Son of Man's side
John shows the Son of God's side
