Sturmey Archer SX RK3 NO 1st Gear ( FIXED )
This is the video I sent to Sturmey archer about there broken FATBIKE HUB.
I was able to fix the hub and very fortinute that when it came apart that the parts didn't get lodged into the internal gears and DESTROY to whole thing
I was sitting at a red light waiting for it to change and when it did I stepped on the pedal and then I heard a weird high pitch SNAP and the pedal just spun but the bike did NOT move.
We had tried everything and nothing NO adjustments fixed the problem 2nd & 3rd gears work just fine but I did not ride the bike anymore after this because I did NOT want to DAMAGE the other gears in the HUB because if it BROKE internally the broken parts had to go somewhere inside the hub and possible get into the other gears and COMPLETELY DESTROY the HUB and I do NOT want to do that .
Keep in mind this HUB is less than a month old and first gear broke on it 2 & 3 Gears work just fine.
FYI I have the same hub in one of my other bikes for years and never had a problem . Had to be a DEFECT from the start.
We will see what Universalcycles does to warranty this since they are suppose to do so I will update this later when I get an answer from them.

Not a factory defect. The ONLY way you can damage the hub to lose a gear is from the bullet point I listed. (no list by the way ) not sure what he meant
Additionally this is NOT a MTB hub and no warranty is given for ANY of our internally geared hubs used on a MTB

This is the response i got today from UNIVERSALCYCLE .
Hi,
The manufacturer/distributer/vendor of your Sturmey Archer hub has determined your hub issue as not covered under warranty. I’m afraid there is no way to go over their heads - they have the final word, sorry.
I recommend heavy duty hubs for your application for more reliable performance.

Well I do NOT quite understand that last statement because on the site to BOST about the IGH HUBS on there MTB bikes Also if they were NOT designed for MTB fatbikes then WHY THE HELL make the hub ??????
