Ark - VR Gameplay Oculus
Some of my old gaming friends have recently gotten into Ark pretty heavily. I took the opportunity to check it out and see if they ever worked out their Oculus support.
Spoiler alert. It's still unplayable in VR.
Ark: Survival Evolved promised Oculus support early on and this still just feels like they added in just enough support to tick a box but not actually make the HMD usable.
I'm sorry for the blinding light and the flickering. I'm showing footage from the right eye. This was not in the left eye. Resulting in a very blurry experience looking at things with both eyes while the right eye flickered in the corner of it.
In short, Ark is a horrible VR experience. It's so bad that I don't even feel compelled to continue writing a review. I've got the video playing as I write this. It speaks for itself more so than I ever could here.
I really wish this game was managed better. It is very addicting and would be amazing in VR. If the VR was done right...
