Yadoriki Watershed Protection Forest in Matsuda Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, depicted in this animation, is located near the headwaters of Nakatsugawa River, which is upstream of Sakawa River in the western part of the prefecture. Spanning 529 hectares, the forest is home to plantations and broad-leaved forests of various kinds.
Because of its relative proximity to central Tokyo, this watershed protection forest is frequently used as a place for people to learn about watershed forestry through observation, hands-on experience, and interaction.
The prefecture’s residents, companies, and organizations are involved in watershed forestry initiatives in order to keep the forests in the water source region healthy and vibrant, so that they can be passed on to future generations. Zurich Insurance has supported these forestation efforts as the prefecture’s Reforestation Partner since November 2023.
Takada Fu’s music evokes the colors of the rich natural bounty of Yadoriki Watershed Protection Forest, and the healing sound of flowing rivers and birdsong.

Arai debuted as an animator in 2008, and worked on in-between animation for the Studio Ghibli films “The Secret World of Arrietty” and “The Wind Rises.” Since then, he’s done character design and unit direction for “Penguin Highway,” storyboarded and directed the second episode of “Pokémon: Twilight Wings,” and directed the opening animation sequence for “Do It Yourself!!“.
