[Misotsuchi Icicles, Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture]
Of the three major icicles that adorn the winter in Chichibu, this is the only one that can be seen as natural. Formed by frozen rocks, these icicles are works of ice art that reach heights of approximately 8 meters, delighting many tourists. However, in recent years, due to the effects of global warming, they have reportedly not grown as large as they should. Chichibu City is actively addressing environmental issues based on the "Chichibu Environmental Basic Plan" and the "Chichibu City Global Warming Countermeasures Implementation Plan."
