'Apathetic Blues' lyric vid by Stellar Jays from the album Early Winters
Lyric vid for ‘Apathetic Blues’ by Stellar Jays. So we’re officially into the deep tracks from our album Early Winters, but this one’s always been a favorite. This is definitely our most rock-forward song on the album, and it’s a song that didn’t really come together until we recorded it in the studio and we were blown away by the result.
The train track drum intro and the guitar opening were written on the fly; the vocals were a first and single take. Lyrically it’s a song about not caring and feeling belligerent about it; musically think the Strokes meet, well, Stellar Jays. Video imagery wise I was going for Ferris Bueller meets Risky Business (that'll make more sense by the end of the video).
Anyway no shade if you never made it to song nine on the album (people don’t listen to new albums anymore anyway!), but give this one a digital spin – you won’t regret it!
