'1000 miles' lyric video by Stellar Jays from their debut album, Early Winters
We're excited to announce the release of our first ever lyric video! We've made one of these for each of the 10 great songs on our album Early Winters and will be rolling the coming weeks. While the original plan was to get these out in the fall, no better time than the middle of winter to cozy up with some fun visuals for these songs.
About the song: so the first song on the album is '1000 Miles' and it was one of the first songs I wrote for Stellar Jays. The vibe I was going for in both the video and the song itself was that feeling you got towards the end of high school when you're driving around with your friends with nowhere to go, and at the same time trying to convince someone you're into that they should be into you too. The rhythmn guitar in the chorus is a humble Johnny Marr attempt. Also those who know me well know R.E.M. was a huge influence on my late high school years, hence the '(Don't Go Back to) Rockville' reference from Reckoning. And p.s. I grew up in the DC metro, so shout out to Rockville, MD!
