'Perfect Storm' Lyric Video by Stellar Jays from the album Early Winters
We're now onto the proverbial "side two" of the album Early Winters with our second single "Perfect Storm." The title's admittedly a bit of a cliche, but it seemed to best fit what we were hoping to convey with the song. At its heart it's a breakup song from the perspective of the one wronged - basically a version of 'I can't believe you had the nerve to do THAT to me' and living well is the best revenge. Lyrically it's not particularly complicated, but I did enjoy sneaking a Gram Parsons reference in there (and I just looked this up - can you believe he was only TWENTY-SIX years old when he died in Joshua Tree? Man. Joshua Tree coincidentally the scenic inspiration for our song Ponderosa btw). Musically Brian B and I have fun setting up some dueling guitars in the intro and the instrumental. Enjoy!
