Material Deconstruction is about creative experimentations in the digital era. With access to an abundant wealth of both physical & digital resources, the possibilities are endless.
Episode 4 of Material Deconstruction.
Lately I've been experimenting with Slow Scan Television & exploring some of the artistic potential it provides.
In this tutorial video, I demonstrate some basic steps to get started in experiencing SSTV for yourself.
All you need is:
Some free software for Windows
A microphone (For decoding)
An image (For generating signal)

SSTV can be used in a lot of weird ways. ARG's commonly feature these sort of encoded audio clips.
For higher resolution images, you need to consider stitching together several SSTV scans into a single composition. Here's an example of the effect that I did. The glitches & distortions are actually the sounds of my friend & I shouting.

If you do not have a microphone, you can use a virtual audio cable. I recommend VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device.
