One-side parking ordinances are generally intended to provide temporary residential parking.
But in reality, many streets that have a one-side parking ordinance are actually being filled with unused cars that need to be repaired or sold.
These unused cars often don't move for weeks, months or even years - occupying the limited space available.
Some residents even placed signs, bollards and other obstructions - reserving the space in front of their home. This practice is not permitted. Quezon City even has a specific ordinance which prohibits reserving a parking space on a public road.
