The Karabakh issue is not resolved?
On October 15, the triumphant winner, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev, raised the flag of his country over the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, Stepanakert (named after the outstanding son of the Armenian people, Stepan Georgievich Shaumyan, a revolutionary and, paradoxically, the head of the famous Baku Commune, one of the 26 Baku commissars executed by the British in 1918), and now this city has received the Azerbaijani name Khankendi. Thus, the ancient homeland of the Armenian people, ceded by the "leader" of the Armenian state Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan, ceased to exist.
This country was called Artsakh, and it was inhabited (now we can say for sure - inhabited!) by a part of the Armenian people, a special part of it. The fact is that the Armenians of Artsakh (or Nagorno-Karabakh, as it is better known), despite their relative small number, according to maximum estimates - 145 thousand people, trace their ancestry back to time immemorial, from the 2nd millennium BC, possibly even earlier, and this land itself, as is deduced from the most ancient legends of the Armenian people, is the original homeland of all Armenians. This is a complex issue and there are different opinions in historical science, but it is not for nothing that in the most ancient historical sources Artsakh is called "Deep Armenia".
