It contains essentials math tricks from Vedic maths using which you can rapidly increase your mental computation skills. Our tricky math videos will let you master math and learn many math tricks to improve your numeracy skills in a very easy, fun and amazing way while surfing over the simple animated videos.
Most of us are taught to do math on paper from right to left. And that's fine for doing math on paper. But if we want to do math in our head even faster than we can on paper. There are many good reasons why it is better to work from left to right. After all, we read numbers from left to right, we pronounce numbers from left to right, and so it’s just more natural to and calculate numbers from left to right. When we compute the answer from right to left, we generate the answer backward. That’s what makes it so hard to do math in our head.
If you like the traditional addition algorithm but find it difficult to do mentally, maybe left to right addition is for you. In addition to the left to right technique used for mental addition and substraction, the trick shared in the video applies to certain cases when one of the numbers is multiply of 10 or 100. This technique combined with the technique defined in the previous two lessons will rapidly increase your speed of addition and subtraction.
If you stick to addition left to right method, you will see that the only easy way to solve three-digit and larger addition problems, all subtraction problems, and most definitely all multiplication and division problems is from left to right. The sooner you get accustomed to computing this way, the better.
▶️ Addition Using Subtraction example and Solution:
74+59=133
▶️ Trick to addition using Subtraction from left to right:
• Step 1: We can solve 2 digit addition problems by converting them into easy subtraction problems when either of the number is close to the multiple of 10.
• Step 2: In this example since 59 is closer to 60, a multiple of 10, it can be written as 60-1
• Step 3: In this case we can simplify addition by first adding 60 and then subtracting 1
So, practice some of your own if you like until you are comfortable doing left to right addition using subtraction mentally.
