Renovation in a rented apartment. Thursday, August 15th.
Wiring. I held on to the wires and lighting going into the kitchen and bathroom until the very last minute. And of course, when I cut it, I thought, "Why didn't I do this sooner?" I'd been trying to avoid them the whole time, and that made the job more difficult.
My plan, of course, was to cut only to the toilet and leave the light in the bathroom, but after taking a closer look, I realized I wasn't ready to take that risk. So I cut everything down to the ground. There are lamps and extension cords, too. I can live like this for a couple of weeks. During the day, there's plenty of natural light everywhere thanks to the windows between the rooms.
New wiring will be done when all the walls are finished. It will all be exterior.
I'm making a rounded corner as is usually done. Using what I have. Don't judge me too harshly.
Painting the ceiling - I used the same paint as the walls. One shade for everything. I didn't prime the ceiling. The paint is beautifully light as is. I sit and admire it every day. Only the bay window reminds me of what it used to be here. #renovationinaremovableStalinbuilding
