The semi-arched ceiling still fascinates me. All my drywall experience is a treasure trove. 🤞🏼
The most important thing for me here is to remember to cut everything with room to spare. A drywall plane helped me fit the edge to the wall. I plan to make a similar curved trim. I've put it off for now, as the prices for curved trim aren't the best.
I covered up the old window openings so I can make a new window frame later. Without them, I can't even see the old building, especially the Stalin-era buildings.
I had to clean off the tile remains and the old adhesive lumps by hand. I promised the neighbors this back in April, when the tile removal was underway. By the end of the removal, their walls, along with the tiles, were already wobbling. So I stopped the worker and said I'd clean it up as best I could.
Also, the baseboard is old—if you don't remove it, the drywall won't fit straight. And Perlfix drywall adhesive is my favorite. It's very easy to mix and easy to apply. I also use it to fill joints. It sands very easily afterwards. Someone even wrote that it's used to level walls.
I made the drywall sheets taller than needed so I could later cut them to the same height using a level.
If you only knew how terrified I was to start remodeling the bathroom. And what a joy it was to see that the plan didn't fall through and everything is going according to plan. 🥰
