Youtube Creative Retreat
BALIPROD hosted a creativity workshop for the YouTube Creative Retreat with creatives: Lucas Issey (Architect), Milisuthando Bongela (Director), and Rachel Levin (Founder of Paloma Productions).
The morning featured a screening of “Milisuthando,” an exploration of Milisuthando’s life and post-apartheid South Africa, weaving together personal narrative, family, and historical figures across three worlds—Transkei, 1990s East London, and Johannesburg.
The sessions continued with Lucas Issey and Rachel Levin.
Rachel discussed her transition from a globetrotting journalist to Paloma Productions’ founder, emphasizing the importance of truthful narratives and her commitment to authenticity in storytelling. While Lucas shared his experience as an architect with a passion for movies, paying attention to architectural details in films. He discussed his approach to designing projects, acknowledging the challenge of envisioning houses as spaces that are not just for rest but also for personal or family growth.
