The state of Hawaii anticipates gradual economic growth and a stronger recovery by 2027, with a focus on tourism, its leading industry. State Chief Economist Seth Colby described the outlook from the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism report as "good, not great." He highlighted that total visitor arrivals rose 2% from April 2025 through June 2025 compared to the same stretch last year. Statistics for July show visitor arrival down 4.4% compared with the same month last year.
