Marimba Drum Kit Groove
This Halftime Shuffle is one of my favourite drum grooves to play and listen to. Influenced heavily by drummers such as: Jeff Pacaro. John Bonham. Vinnie Colaiuta. Steve Gadd. Bernard Purdie...
I like to aim for consistency, especially with ghost notes and back beat. Which hopefully make the groove flow and feel good...
I also pay a lot of attention to the dynamics in the right hand- Hi Hat or Ride, using accents on every other note..
It can be fun and interesting to check out various bass drum patterns underneath this too..
In this Marimba track, I chose not to play too many bass drum notes to keep some air and space!
