Zandile was infected with HIV at the age of 17, after being in a relationship with a "blesser" who was 3 times her age. She started dating the man during a very dark time in her life, and he took advantage of her vulnerability. He knowingly infected her with HIV, and she was also pregnant with his child, but later decided to terminate the pregnancy. She is now an HIV activist, who aims to educate young girls about HIV.
