Sig Sauer Mosquito, .22 LR Training Pistol
The Sig mosquito is an interesting little 22 plinker capable of simulating Sig 226 training with low cost 22LR ammo. This test example showed good accuracy, good reliability with bulk federal Remington and Winchester 22 ammo. CCI Mini Mags are recommended by Sig and exhibit higher reliability over bulk ammo. For me, the volume of shooting at the lowest cost is what I'm looking for so if it will function with minor stoppages due to ammo I will shoot bulk. This pistol had acceptable stoppages due to bulk ammo and is fun to take out and substitute as a Sig trainer. The cons are the slide stop sticks out way too far, the Sig mags are over priced, the polymer Sig mags SUCK, and the trigger pull is DA/SA but heavy and gritty.
