Music and clay are amongst the most malleable, enduring, and shared materials and experiences known to the Human Family. Many ancient musical instruments are ceramic. Inspired by this relationship, this presentation discusses clay and sound through the history of ceramic drums, recently taught workshops, and improvised performances directed toward connectiveness.
