Display:
googlepixel 6a features a 6.1 inch OLED HDR display which has 1080p+ resolution.
It has very minimal bezels just a chin on the bottom, in terms of outdoor visibility it has 500nits peak brightness. Pixel 6a display is very colour accurate with deep blacks and vivid colours. Downside of pixel 6a display is that it has 60hz refresh rate which is not impressive according to today's standards.
Performance:
google 6a has Google own tensor processor which is 5 nanometre based, it has high clock speed of 2.8 gigahertz. Pixel 6a features 6gb ram with 60 hertz display it has decent antutu benchmark scores around 680000. On normal use it runs very smooth you will notice no lag in performance. In terms of RAW power it lacks behind its competition as Google's processor are one generation behind in terms of raw performance. So if you are a heavy user who plays continuous heavy games or use to render long videos this phone may get heated as, I have noticed heating problems on demanding tasks. Pixel 6a PUBG test shows it's performance is good enough for normal users but if you are a heavy user it may feel slow.
Battery life:
In terms of battery life pixel devices has very bad reputation but google pixel 6a 5g is an exception. Pixel 6a has 4410 mah battery which is decent considering its size. It is featuring Google's own tensor processor which has very good battery optimization. As we know google 6a has 60hz display which consumes less power in comparison to 90hz or 120hz displays. So combination of all, we get very good battery life on pixel 6a. Upon normal use it offers 6 to 7 hours screen on time. On heavy use it easily last 5.5 to 6 hours screen on time. If you are a heavy gamer who runs heavy games or tends to do continuous game plays like pubg or call of duty it can easily last 4 hours of gameplay.
Build quality & design:
In terms of design language Google pixels are very unique with their camera visor on the back making these look distentive from others. googlepixel 6a has very minimal design it has plastic back, aluminium side rails and gorilla glass 3 on front. It has less thickness in comparison to pixel 6 and it is less bulky, as it has low weight in comparison to pixel 6. It's sits very comfortable in the palm you can easily manage it with single hand, so I would say in 2024 google 6a pixel doesn't look out dated.
Fingerprint:
pixel 6a phone has under display optical fingerprint scanner. Pixel 6 series is known for their slow fingerprint scanners as people used to compare these with Samsung's ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, but those phone cost double. In terms of unlocking the phone it gets the job done. You will feel very light lag while unlocking the device but I have face no trouble in terms of functionality.
Speakers:
pixel 6a 5g has dual stereo speakers one loudspeaker at the bottom while other in the earpiece. Pixel 6a stereo speakers are very good at loudness base and clarity I have given a sound demo so you can understand audio quality properly.
Camera:
Pixel devices are famous for their stunning cameras so pixel 6a camera is no exception. Pixel 6a has dual camera setup on the back, 12.2 megapixel main camera while 12 megapixel Ultra white camera. Apple's latest iPhone 15 and 15 plus features same camera setup one standard while other ultra wide camera. In terms of photography pixel 6a camera was winner of blind camera test held by MKBHD. It offers excellent dynamic range in tricky lighting conditions such as bright sunny days or shooting against sun. Pixel 6a has a dedicated night mode for low light photography which takes amazing shots at low light, it also has low light portrait mode which takes bright portrait shots under low light conditions. Pixel 6a has a descent portrait mode which take stunning portrait shorts with good edge detection and beautiful background blur.
In terms of videography google 6a can shoot 4K 60fps videos with its main camera while ultra wide camera is capable of shooting 4K 30 FPS videos. Videos on pixel 6a has good dynamic range vivid colours and excellent stabilization but pixel phones has frame drop issues in their videography sometimes while moving frame videos feel bit lagging.
But still I would say in 2024 pixel 6a camera competes very well against its competition, we can easily compare it with iPhone 13 or 14 in photography.
