I zero base budget and use the cash envelope method-it has helped me pay off over 82K of debt. I'm on a journey to break poor money habits that stem from prior generations in my family, and I'm learning to rise above a scarcity mindset.
What is a scarcity mindset? A scarcity mindset makes escaping poverty extremely difficult. For example I used to constantly tell myself that I couldn't invest in the future in fear of my present needs not getting met and whenever I did have money I would buy everything I needed and wanted at that moment since I was not thinking about the future. I've come a long way since we've started!
