During the Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's FY2017 budget request, Senator Diane Feinstein asked the commissioners about the concrete cracking that resulted in the closure of the Crystal River nuclear plant.
It's apparent that someone in her staff thought that the issue indicated a problem with licensing reactors to operate for extended periods of time.
Sen Feinstein is a caring, curious public servant who appears to want to do her best to serve her consituents in California and the rest of the US. She deserves better staff support.
