I composed Depths of the Ocean in 1985 - that's well before I created the Indian Ocean band in 1990. First time I performed it live with Asheem Chakravarty in 1986 as a duo. I love playing it again and again!
The first time you heard Depths of the Ocean was in 2011 when I launched my first post Indian Ocean album, as Susmit Sen Chronicles. It was followed by more renditions. One of them was with the talented US pianist, Melanie Hardinge.
This latest one is a whole new rendition of Depths of the Ocean. This time, it's released as a guitar-and-piano duet. On the piano, it's Tatyana Dichenko, a virtuoso from Russia who graduated from the renowned Moscow Conservatory.
