I composed this guitar solo decades ago, during my early days as a musician, to salute some of the finest maestros of Indian classical music.
Mallikarjun Mansur, Kumar Gandharva, Ali Akbar Khan, Nikhil Banerjee, and a few others had greatly inspired me to embark on my musical journey. And it is they who inspired me to come up with this composition as a tribute to their contribution in my life.
Like I say, 'Tribute' was composed long back, but I officially released it only in 2011, as part of my album Depths of the Ocean with my current band, Susmit Sen Chronicles. This latest rendition was recorded recently.
About The Track: It starts slow and immersive, like a deep breath for your mind. The guitar takes you on a journey—first soothing, then building up with energy. It’s like a conversation between classical depth and raw emotion—perfect for when you need warmth and a gentle push forward.
