The eviction and foreclosure moratorium is being extended again. President Biden said this extension until July 31st will be the final extension, but I think it is likely that it is pushed out indefinitely.
On a brighter note, Altisource has signed a major credit agreement with Deer Park Management, a fund who owns over 25% of the shares outstanding of ASPS stock. This is a major win for the company, receiving flexible backing from someone who is already a shareholder and is incentivized to want to maximize equity value. This Gives altisource the financial strength to make it through this period where defaults are at an all time low.
Overall, there may be a real estate bubble and if it pops ASPS stock will do very well, but until then it is more of a speculative investment that has a lot of risks and high potential upside.
