About Garrett Schumacher
Garret Schumacher (@DNAcryptoNerd) is passionately working to add information security to the world of genetics via biological and chemical cryptographic methods, not only adding security, but also adding improved tracking and quantitation of nucleic acids, reduced error and cost of sequencing while enabling consumers to control who has access to their data.
He also works at the University of Colorado Boulder in the TCP Program and is attempting to solve the workforce shortage and diversity gaps in cybersecurity by developing a top program for cybersecurity education that is accessible to all. He also teaches cybersecurity courses and advises graduate research projects, as well as manages the program's external and internal communication and innovation strategies.
