Variable Capacitance Pressure Transmitter Dynamic Response- How to tune Transmitter response.
The variable capacitance DP transducer is a very popular device which is used sense and transmit pressure differences. People often face issues with sluggishness and fast response of these instruments. In this particular video, we are going to deep dive into working of these DP cells, prepare mathematical model and then give you practical guidance on how to improve response.
In this picture, you can see one pressure transmitter with an external diaphragm. Process Pressure is exerted on the external diaphragm, gets transmitted through the capillary tube and falls on the isolating diaphragm. The isolating diaphragm is inside transmitter and it is sealed. Here you can see a picture of the same. Now the isolating diaphragm transmits the pressure through the fill fluid inside the capsule. Inside the capsule there is a sensing diaphragm and a capacitor plate. As pressure is exerted , the distance between the sensing diaphragm and the capacitor plate changes, this results in change is capacitance. This change in capacitance is measured through electronic circuit.
