Lightyear (2022) [spoiler free] Breakdown
Did critics get it right? Did Lightyear deserve to flop? What goes into a film review and can context sway one's objectivity from seeing a movie as it really is? Is this how cult classics are created? Was Spiderman No Way Home a masterpiece as most critics heralded? Is Stranger Things, beloved and adored by fans, a well written and paced show?
I am not saying that Lightyear will be a classic in a generation, but it is a curious observation as to how much bad press launched with this film effected the ticket sales... as if many hoped Pixar would fail... and they did, but was it deserved?
