Average Rate of Change
This video explains how to calculate the average rate of change for a non-linear equation. The average rate of change is calculated with the ratio of the change of y over the change of x but unlike a linear function that rate of change is different at different intervals. A secant line is a straight line joining two points on a function. The average rate of change is the slope of the secant line.
