Concavity and inflection points of a function are defined and this video explains how to find the interval on which the function is concave up or concave down and where the inflection point is. A function is concave up (or upwards) where the rate of change is increasing. Similarly, the function is concave down (or downwards) where the rate of change is decreasing. Graphically, a graph that's concave up has a cup or U shape, and a graph that's concave down has a cap shape ∩. The inflection point is where it goes from concave up to concave down or concave down to concave up.
