Lawyer Storms Court With Pastoral Attire
A Nigerian Lawyer surprised everyone by appearing in court with his Pastoral Attire days after his colleague stormed court in Juju Priest Attire
Bar. Ogbachalu Goshen yesterday July 1, 2022 appeared before Okpoko Magistrate Court in the Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State.
There was drama in the court when Magistrate C.B Mbaegbu refused to hear him on grounds that he was not formally dressed. Goshen responded with disagreement and citing the recent Supreme Court judgment that gave female students the right to wear hijab in public schools as a precedent.
He also argued that it was his right, adding that the objection by the Magistrate was an infringement on his fundamental rights as enshrined in section 38 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This led to the Magistrate forcing the court to dismiss immediately.
