Semi-Protective Contact Haltering

Amir and Lori demonstrate how to utilize protected contact to halter a horse. This cooperative behavior enables the horse to consent to interaction or to clearly say “no” by simply moving away. This voluntary behavior may also be used for rambunctious horses that become overstimulated by treats or excited about the training session to follow. Keeps the handler safe during haltering and allows the horse to have choice and control over participation.
