GitHub & the Inter-American Development Bank: Open sourcing where to build schools in Brazil
GitHub's Skills-Based volunteering tam partnered with the Inter-American Development Bank to develop a data driven solution of where to build new schools based on population density, growth, and need in Brazil. Using UrbanPy, an open source data model this will help government urban planners collaborate with open source community to leverage available data for school locations to improve accessibility especially in remote locations.
