Reaching distant corners of the nation requires not just physical infrastructure, but software to route data across disparate networks, optimize bandwidth, and more. Code underpins every aspect of the company's operations. TELUS uses GitHub to automate daily software development tasks to reduce toil, increase happiness, and let developers focus more on creativity without worrying about how that code is versioned, managed, or protected. In 2022, TELUS executed more than 3 million GitHub Actions. "If each of those actions saved a developer a minute, which I think is an underestimate, then we've reached $60 million in cost avoidance for our developers this year," says Staff Developer Advocate Katie Peters.
