Balsa Wood Structure Weight-Bearing Competition
I taught a creative thinking class in our local homeschool Co-op for students ages 11-13. Their final project of the semester was to build a structure out of balsa wood and glue to hold as much weight as possible. The structures had weight less than 18 grams, have a height of at least 8 inches, and a width of less than 10 inches. Here is what they accomplished.
