In “Understanding Autism” we are presented with a fresh look at Autism, showing the incredible diversity of gifts and challenges experienced by Autistic individuals and their families. The film’s Director, Scott Steindorff, himself Autistic, is a passionate advocate for changing the way the world understands autism. In this compelling journey, he speaks to over 100 experts, including leading researchers, scientists, and doctors from all over the world, as well as with autistic children and adults across the spectrum, including nonspeaking advocate Elizabeth Bonker, the valedictorian famous for her 2022 commencement address at Rollins College, for which she received international acclaim.
