Kanban Cards in use at ATC
As part of our continuous improvement journey here at ATC we have implemented Kanban cards to ensure we never run out of consumables.
Kanban inventory cards are visual tools used in the manufacturing and service industry to signal the need for inventory replenishment. They operate within a pull system, ensuring that only the necessary amount of stock is on hand, reducing excess inventory and waste.
The objective is to control inventory levels and make it easy for the team to notice when it’s time to replenish stock.
A kanban card contains essential information about inventory items, including:
Part number
Description
Image (if applicable)
Order quantity
Supplier details
Delivery time
The Kanban card is reviewed regularly and depending on usage history the signal to reorder may be increased or decreased. Effective kanban inventory management helps us maintain an efficient workflow, reduce costs, and stay competitive in today’s complex supply chains.
