Source of Truth is not important
Start small, think big. You can start your automation journey without having your whole team to agree on a single source of truth (SSOT). Start with read-only use cases like backing up network switches, debugging interface states and looking at routing adjacencies for OSPF, BGP or whatever you are using. Ansible can be a force multiplier to getting your job faster and inspire your teammates to invest into learning automation!
