It’s rare that a maker has love for only one method, so on The MultiCraftual Episode of The Knit Show with Vickie Howell we experiment with multi-craftuality -- mixing materials, and combining knitting and crochet with sewing, weaving, and more!
First up, we meet this week’s Knit Hive!
Next we’re in the studio with former host of PBS’ Knit & Crochet Now, and co-owner of Brooklyn Craft Company, Brett Bara. Brett’s impeccable style and eye for all that is cool, spills into this segment as she shows us how to make a fold-over clutch that’s part knit with yarn, part sewn with leather, and finished off with a bead and tassel closure.
Vickie jumps on a plane to Kent, Washington to bring you this episode’s field trip: a visit to one of her favorite multi-craft stores, Makers’ Mercantile.
Later, we’re back in the studio with author, weaver and designer, Rachel Denbow of Smile & Wave. Rachel shows how to make the on-trend Hybrid Wallhanging using a filet crochet swatch as a base, but made extra special with different weights of yarn and roving woven in using various, simple techniques. If you don’t own a loom, but have always wanted to try weaving, this project’s for you!
