Ocean Ecosystem Services
This film explores the ecosystem services of the ocean through the eyes of a shark and her friendly pilot fish companions. Ocean ecosystem services are the benefits humans derive from the ocean, such as: food, climate and gas regulation, scientific and educational opportunities and cultural services such as aesthetic beauty and recreational opportunities. Graduate students at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies and a recent graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design worked together to create this film in an effort to educate people about the value of the ocean and the ecosystem services it provides.
