The first immersive experience of an airliner water landing and evacuation, from the passenger’s perspective. “Emergency Water Landing VR” can be downloaded from Oculus: https://share.oculus.com/app/emergenc....
The experience is a glimpse of the future of safety education, created at the University of Udine by the Human-Computer Interaction Lab (http://hcilab.uniud.it), a research and development team specialized in safety apps (for more apps see http://hcilab.uniud.it/apps).
A user study has shown that the virtual experience of water landing and evacuation produces better knowledge retention results than traditional aviation safety education materials. For more information, see:

The emergency scenario depicted in “Emergency Water Landing VR” is partially inspired by a well-known accident (January 15, 2009; US Airways Flight 1549) in which Captain Chesley Sullenberger performed a successful water landing of his airliner after the aircraft suffered a loss of power to both engines.
