Why We Refused Grand Design's Front Living Unit
We've loved our 2019 Grand Design Reflection 297rsts travel trailer. However, now that we have some extra time on our hands, we have chosen to get a bigger unit. We narrowed it down to Grand Design's Front Living Unit, the Solitude 380fl. We' seen the photos and several YouTube videos on it, and we were convinced that this unit was for us. We headed to Bill Plemmon's RV (now Blue Compass RV) in Raleigh. After a thorough walkthru, we decided that we would pass on this one. It had a little sink with a cutting board, and some gimmicky cup rinse thing on the corner of the sink. I can just see my little grandkids messing with it, and spraying water everywhere. The theater recliners no longer had the center console - a perfect place to store remotes. We finally decided to buy the 2024 Reflection 337rls. It was perfect.
Just a note to RV manufacturers... please check with long-time RVers before you design something. Personally, I hate gimmicky things... when i spend $70,000 and up for an RV, I am not interested in multi-colored lights or even a vibrator on my recliner. The cup rinse thing is crazy. Keep the solld surface covers on the larger sink. I could go on, but when you have been RVing for over 40 years, there are some things you need, and some things just cheapen the experience.
