Meet-the-team Wednesday with...Dramaturg and Writer Stewart Melton!
In this episode of our 'meet-the-team Wednesdays' we chatted with dramaturg and writer Stewart Melton! You’ll need a blank piece of paper and something to write/draw with - we’re going to play some dramaturgy games!
Stewart is a playwright and dramaturg. A Playwright 'wrights' (that's an old word for 'makes' - or 'writes') plays, which here means 'books that describe what a story's characters do and say during a show'. Dramaturg is another old word (originally from Ancient Greece) that means 'play worker' - that's a person who helps other artists to tell stories and share ideas on a stage. He often writes with and for young people and thinks children make the best audiences for theatre.
