From Lighthouse Isolation to Community Nursing life
Having lived on a lighthouse island during my childhood with my family has given me the foundation of robust community care as a nurse enabling people to live in their own homes independently for as long as possible. For all aspects of nursing including mental health, aged, custodial, community, disability and high acuity this caring profession encompasses the ability to communicate on many levels with exposure to young detainees to 105 year olds.
From waiting for a piano to be delivered to the island by ship to pushing the boundaries of custodial care this 50 year timespan will give an insight to the potential we all have over time.
Patience and patients is the key!
