Flying over Slab City
Damien Beresford has been coming out to the Slabs for a few years, and when he does, he spends a lot of his time giving people rides in his ultralight airplane. It's something he takes pride in--giving folks that normally wouldn't have the opportunity--to fly like a bird over the Slab City area.
I just happen to be in the area while he was doing so, Damien took me on my first ultralight flight. It was an amazing experience seeing Slab City from the sky just as the sun was starting to set. It was a view and experience I never would have imagined having in the Slabs.
