A condition of impaired digestion. Symptoms may include heartburn, nausea, belching, upper abdominal fullness or pain.
It is a common problem and is frequently caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastritis, or Helicobacter pylori infection.
Helicobacter pylori infection results in chronic mucosal inflammation in the stomach and duodenum, leading to abnormalities in gastroduodenal motility and sensitivity.
