DIY Bowl with Popsicle Sticks
This unique and fun craft idea for kids makes a handy bowl for knick knacks, keys, or anything! Color your craft sticks with marker or crayon or use pre-colored ones to add panache to this craft project. Add embellishments to make each one unique.
1. On this project we will be working from the top of the bowl to the bottom of the bowl. On a flat surface, lay six craft sticks in a hexagon (stop sign) shape, Making sure three of the sides lay completely flat on the surface and the other three rest on top of those three. Glue the top craft sticks into place.
2. Repeat gluing craft sticks onto one another until at least 6 or 7 layers of craft sticks have been glued.
3. To make the tapered bowl sides, glue the next set of craft sticks slightly lower than the previous set. We glued ours about halfway down from the previous set. Continue gluing each layer slightly lower than the previous set until the edges of the craft sticks touch.
4. To create the bowl bottom, glue a row of craft sticks along the last layer. Allow to dry.
5. Decorate with jewels, etc.
