After Effects Smears with Minimax & Speed Expression
Create a horizontal “smear” effect on type layers which is expression linked to the layer’s speed.
I call these “smears” even though they’re not smears in the true sense of the word. The minimax stretch effect increases in direct proportion to the speed. Smears are generally used sparingly over a few frames to give the illusion of motion blur, rather than how they appear here. It’s more a stylistic flourish.
But try putting that in a video title.
Anyway. Expressions used:
Math.floor(position.speed)
For Speed control slider
And:
x= 600-[effect("Minimax")("Radius")];
y = 500;
[x,y];
To apply to position property of Transform effect on main type layer.
